About The Riley Family Tree
I have been working on my Family Tree since I was 10 years old and became interested in genealogy. I have a lot of pictures and data to share. I hope my family and cousins will visit this site and enjoy seeing the pictures. This will always be a "work in progress".
We have hosted a "Massac Cousins" Reunion now for the second year and hope to have this for many years to come. We met June 16, 2007 at Fort Massac State Park in Metropolis, IL for the 1st reunion. The 2nd reunion was held June 21, 2008 at the Massac Creek Community For Christ Church in Metropolis, IL. Both years we had about 50 guests and we hope to see more.
Helen Douglas was our oldest guest at 97 years of age in 2008. She lives near Karnak, IL and we were pleased she was able to share the day with us. We had Clyde, Opal, Dale Douglas and the Larry Douglas family as new guests.
In September of 2009 we had a "mini" reunion the day our oldest daughter Maranda Hall married David Littlejohn. We enjoyed visiting with my dad's 90-year-old sister. Aunt Marion Riley White and her daughter Judy Hall and husband Dave. 4 generations of Aunt Vivian Riley Brase's family were also guests, from St. Louis. Now we have a new surname to research with the Littlejohn family.
Our youngest daughter has recently married, and we now have added the surnames of McPherson, Brown, Browning and others from his family. It has been an exciting time with lots of new folks to add and their history. This newest addition has brought about study in Logan, Edmonson, Barren, Todd and Christian Counties in KY and many counties across the state of TN.
You will notice that the bulk of family mentioned in this site are those who settled in Massac, Johnson, Pulaski, and other counties in the Southern Illinois Region. Many of these families came to America before the Revolutionary War. They lived in North Carolina and moved to Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennesse before coming to Illinois and Warren County, Iowa.
I hope this site is informative and will help you expand your family tree. Karen Riley Hall

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list.
